Your Instructor

Bob Garvie was born and raised in Aberdeen.  Most of his working life has been spent as a professional driver.  He worked for over 12 years in the Chemical Industry where he gained his ADR (Road) License, which is required for the transportation of dangerous and hazardous goods, this work took him all over Scotland driving various classes of vehicles.

He then spent several years as a taxi driver which involved contracts with major oil companies as well as Aberdeen City Council which required him to be registered with Disclosure Scotland.

Bob was looking for a new challenge in his career and something that would also give him a sense of satisfaction and achievement.  Remembering back to the feeling of elation and excitement when he passed his driving test, he felt that being a driving instructor could be the opportunity to achieve his goal as well as giving something back to others.

Lots of hard work and training paid off when he qualified as a Department of Transport approved Driving Instructor (Car) or DOT, A.D.I. (Car) for short.

Car Spec

  • Tuition is currently carried out in a Ford Fiesta 1.4 Climate.
  • This is a very popular car with Driving Instructors because of it's general size, ease of use and good all round visability.
  • The car is fitted with Dual Controls and Air Conditioning, this car is used for your test, by the time this comes around you will feel comfortable with the layout and feel of the car and therefore more at ease on the day of your test.
